Introduction
In my last blog on Jujutsu Kaisen, I mentioned Yorozu many times. In fact, you guys also want to know the details of the fight between Sukuna and Yorozu. So, well, that’s what we will cover in today’s blog.
Because today, we will not only talk about Yorozu, but we will also discuss the details of the fight between her and Sukuna. Now, this goes without saying, this blog is full of spoilers, so I am warning you to watch it carefully.
Who is Yorozu?
Before we focus on the fight between Yorozu and Sukuna, let me tell you a few things about Yorozu. Yorozu was basically a Jujutsu sorcerer of the Heian era who was very powerful. She was little different from the beginning, where she had nothing to do with customs, formalities, and traditions.
In fact, Yorozu didn’t even like to wear clothes, and her attendant kept telling her, “Live like this, do this, don’t do that.” But one thing is certain, Yorozu didn’t listen to her.
Yorozu’s Love for Sukuna
During the Heian era, when Yorozu met Sukuna, she fell in love at first sight. By the way, she wanted to erase Sukuna’s loneliness with her love. How? She planned to kill Sukuna, and then she would feel his loneliness. Now, you tell me, what should I call this love?
To participate in the Culling Games, she agreed on one condition: that she would get the chance to fight the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer, who, in her eyes, was none other than Sukuna. At least in her eyes.
Yorozu’s Reincarnation in the Culling Games
Fast forward to the present day—Kenjaku’s plan of thousands of years has been successful, and currently, the Culling Games is going on. In this, Yorozu reincarnates. How? I will tell you in another blog, where we will discuss the Culling Games properly. For now, just know that Yorozu has taken over Megumi’s sister Tsumiki’s body . In fact, she was also acting like Tsumiki. Megumi transfers 100 points considering her as his sister, so she can get out of the murderous game called the Culling Games. But as soon as she gets points, Yorozu shows her real colors.
Now, with the help of these points, Yorozu adds a new rule to the game that allows players to enter and exit different colonies. If you are a little confused here—what rule, what point—let me just explain briefly. If you get 100 points in the Culling Games, then you can add a new rule. How do you get points? Well, you can either transfer them, which again was added under a rule, or if you kill a Jujutsu sorcerer, you get 5 points. That means, if you kill 20 sorcerers, you will collect 100 points.
As I mentioned earlier, the Culling Games are a little complicated, which we will tackle in another blog. Here, we focus on the fight between Yorozu and Sukuna.
“I will love you with all my strength, even if it means breaking you apart and putting you back together again.”
– Yorozu
Sukuna Takes Control
So, Yorozu is now in full form, and she challenges Sukuna to a fight. Sukuna, who is now inside Itadori, speaks “enchain” and takes control of Itadori’s body for a while. Remember that binding vow that happened in Season 1? Yes, according to that, Sukuna can take control of Itadori for 1 or 2 minutes when he speaks “enchain.”
After taking control, Sukuna cuts Yuji’s pinky finger and puts it in Megumi’s mouth, giving him control over Megumi’s body. Itadori is now normal; there is no Sukuna in him, but now he is in Megumi. From here, Sukuna starts fighting everyone. Then some other things happen, and we finally reach the Sukuna vs. Yorozu fight.
The Fight Begins
Sukuna and Yorozu are face to face, and a fight starts between them. This fight was more like flirting than a fight because Yorozu was just showing her love for Sukuna. Yorozu asks Sukuna, “If I win this fight, what will you give me?” Romantic Sukuna replies, “I will give you everything. I will give you whatever you ask for.” Hearing this, Yorozu becomes very happy and makes a binding vow that if she wins this fight, Sukuna will have to marry her. In happiness, Yorozu says, “I will not let any other girl come into your life.”
Okay, it’s understandable; you love me, and you don’t want her to come into your life. But then she says, “I will finish three villages, and I will hang the heads of the most handsome people in all three villages.” What is this? Again, I would like to ask, what should I call this love?
Anyway, the fight starts again, and Sukuna uses Divine Dogs. Yorozu dodges Divine Dogs, but she was surprised because these powers are not Sukuna’s. Sukuna says, “These are Megumi’s powers, which is my vessel, and while fighting you, I will not use my powers. I will fight with Megumi’s powers.”
There was a reason behind doing this, and that reason was that Sukuna wanted to drown Megumi’s soul. He wanted to break it. I mean, think about it: if he uses Ten Shadows to kill Yorozu, who is in Tsumiki’s body (Megumi’s sister), because of Megumi’s Ten Shadows, his sister was killed. Do you understand the chronology? Megumi’s soul will be stained because he killed his elder sister. This will weaken Megumi’s resolve.
By the way, my resolve also weakens when you don’t follow me on Instagram and Facebook. Coming back to the fight, Yorozu doesn’t like the fact that Sukuna is using someone else’s curse technique. She says, “You will touch your future wife with someone else’s curse technique? I don’t like this kinky stuff. You can’t defeat me without Malevolent Shrine.” Now at this point, we are told a little about Yorozu’s curse technique.
Yorozu’s Construction Technique
Yorozu’s curse technique is construction, with which she can make anything except for special-grade curse tools. And yes, She can create anything she has knowledge of. Now, thousands of years ago, Yorozu used her construction a lot, where she made different types of weapons. In this, she invented a liquid metal whose volume can be changed, but its properties won’t change due to semi-automatic cursed energy—something like that. The point is that with the help of this liquid metal, she made her own flesh armor, which has bio-functions. You can see in the photo how this suit looks and how many features it has, like wings, claws, etc.
Now, we are told a little history about this armor. Thousands of years ago, when Yorozu used her construction to construct anything, she used a lot of cursed energy, which means her technique was very inefficient. Then, once Yorozu found out about a butterfly that can cross the sea—in fact, if you see, Vespine wasps can fly up to 100 km in a day. This means that insects are very efficient; they can lift their weight up to 100 times. They are so small, but their bite force is strong.
So, keeping in mind the efficiency of these insects, Yorozu constructed this armor, which you can see resembles an insect. With the help of this armor, Yorozu not only becomes very OP in mid-range combat, but she also uses very little cursed energy to control the liquid metal. In this form, Yorozu defeated 5 empty generals in her time, basically from the Fujiwara clan.
The fight continues
Okay, we’ve talked a lot about Yorozu’s powers. Now, let’s get to the fight. When Sukuna sees Yorozu in this form, he says, “Now it’s time for me to test my new powers.” We notice that Sukuna has a Dharma Chakra on his head. Yorozu starts attacking Sukuna, and Sukuna withstands the assaults. While fighting, Yorozu shouts, “Cut me down! See the love flowing inside my body for you with your own eyes!” Is this really a fight, or is it flirting? Actually, it feels like something even wilder than flirting!
Anyway, Sukuna summons his Round-Deer Shikigami. As soon as it appears, Yorozu loses control of her liquid metal. This happens because the Round-Deer uses a reverse cursed technique to heal, which neutralizes the construction of the liquid metal, causing Yorozu to lose control. As Yorozu becomes a bit unstable, Sukuna summons Piercing Ox and attacks her with it. Yorozu endures the Ox’s attack once, but she becomes more cautious afterward. She realizes that the Ox runs and attacks in a straight line, and the longer it runs, the more powerful its attack becomes, so she carefully diverts her sling to avoid it.
As Yorozu handles this attack, Sukuna uses Rabbit Escape, which fills her entire field of vision, making her unable to see what’s happening around her. There are so many rabbits surrounding her that Yorozu can’t figure out where Sukuna is. Why is he doing this? Because at that moment, Sukuna is up in the air, preparing to drop the Max Elephant Shikigami on her. Now, you can imagine the weight of the elephant and the impact it would have falling from that height—I don’t need to spell it out for you. This whole combination of attacks ultimately destroys Yorozu’s armor.
The Final Moments
After this, Sukuna stylishly approaches Yorozu and says, like a lover boy, “I didn’t need Malevolent Shrine to defeat you.” Hearing this, Yorozu replies, “I have a lot to teach you about love.” She continues, “I am the only one who will teach you about love, the ultimate strength, and the solitude it brings.” Saying this, Yorozu constructs a perfect sphere.
Now, it is considered impossible to create a true sphere, but Yorozu manages to construct a perfect one, which has neither a contact point nor a touchpoint. If you can’t even touch this sphere, how can you destroy it? It also exerts an infinite amount of pressure on you. After constructing the perfect sphere, Yorozu activates her domain expansion, “Three-Fold Affliction.”
Normally, when someone activates their domain expansion, the opponent would counter with their own domain, but Sukuna doesn’t do that. Yorozu wonders why Sukuna isn’t opening his domain. If she uses her domain’s sure-hit effect and crushes Sukuna with the perfect sphere, Sukuna would be finished. But then Sukuna says, “With this treasure, I summon MAHORAGA.” As soon as Mahoraga enters the battle—meaning he is summoned—he shatters the perfect sphere.
How did this happen?
Sukuna explains to Yorozu that her technique is very inefficient and that he has already adapted to it, thanks to the Dharma Chakra on his head. Because the adaptation is complete, Mahoraga was able to break the sphere by adapting to its properties. After her domain is shattered, Yorozu is left without strength, lying on the ground. She says, “I am happy, Sukuna, that you know so much about me.” After this, she gives Sukuna a gift..
Now, what is this gift? We haven’t been told yet. Yorozu simply says, “Use this gift properly because think of it as me.” After that, Yorozu does not survive. Meanwhile, we see Megumi’s soul, trapped inside Sukuna, crying because, in some way, his sister was hurt by him. Hurt? She was literally killed.
“You want love? Prove it with strength. Only through battle do we see the truth of the heart.”
– Sukuna
Conclusion
This marks the end of the fight between Sukuna and Yorozu. After watching this battle, you must have realized that for normal sorcerers—or what am I saying, normal?—for sorcerers like Yorozu, who have been around for a long time and are so powerful, it wasn’t possible to open their domain more than once.
If we look at Gojo and Sukuna’s battle, both of them have opened their domains five times each. And even now, not much has happened—just a little blood here and there. This shows how incredibly strong these two are. We’ll have to wait and see how that fight unfolds, and ‘ll cover it in a four-part blog series.
And here’s a little challenge: let’s aim for 20 shares and comments on the previous blog, and 20 shares and comments on this one too. I know it’s a big ask, but I believe you can do it!
