Introduction
In Naruto, many people have become Hokage, such as Hashirama, Hiruzen, Minato, Tsunade, and Kakashi. However, most of them couldn’t achieve as much except for Tobirama and Naruto. Tobirama created the entire political system of the village, and Naruto defeated god-level beings to protect the village. However the question remains what if madara become hokage ?
After spending almost 3-4 hours on the internet reading people’s opinions and analyzing numerous articles, I’m writing this blog to discuss what would happen if Madara Uchiha had become the first Hokage. Ahead, you’ll discover the benefits and drawbacks of this scenario. Well, what would be the benefits? What would be the drawbacks? Before we get into that, let’s understand the history of the Konoha village.
The Founding of Konoha: Madara’s Role and Vision
Madara and Hashirama were the two individuals who established Konoha Village. Madara was the one who named it Konohagakure, meaning ‘Village Hidden in the Leaves.’ Everything was going well, and Madara was gradually gaining the peace and respect he needed. But then came the time to decide the first Hokage. Hashirama suggested to Madara that he should become the first Hokage, but Madara refused, believing he was not suitable for the role. This was both true and not true, as you’ll see later in the blog.
Hashirama told Madara not to worry, acknowledging that Madara had lost his brother and family in the war and understood the pain of loss well. Hashirama told Madara that the villagers were his family and siblings now. Madara eventually agreed. For your information, Madara took care of his clan and siblings very well. It’s even said that the brotherly bond between Madara and Izuna was greater than that of Itachi and Sasuke. How true is that? Let me know your opinions in the comments section about their bonding.
The First Hokage Vote: A Turning Point in Konoha’s History
Moving on to the main point. Here enters Tobirama, who suggested that the first Hokage should be chosen through voting. The voting took place, and most people voted for Hashirama. Even the Uchiha clan voted for Hashirama. Most people didn’t want Madara as Hokage, and Madara felt betrayed.
It’s like when you’ve sacrificed everything for someone, ready to give up your life, and in the end, they say, “What have you done for me?” A person feels broken, and Madara started questioning his decision to establish the village and unite the clans. He even talked to Hashirama about it, and Hashirama reassured him, saying, “I know people don’t understand now, but one day they will, and I’ll make you the second Hokage. For now, stand by me as a brother and friend to make this village better.”
Madara, however, believed that if Tobirama became the second Hokage, all Uchiha would be killed. That’s why he told all the Uchiha to leave the village, but no one listened. After this, Madara felt like an outcast. Hashirama still had respect for Madara and considered him a friend. However, Madara had already read the Stone Tablet, which had been tampered with by Black Zetsu.
After that, Madara declared war against the Hidden Leaf, leading to a three-day fight between Hashirama and Madara, which Hashirama won. After that, you know what happened to the Hidden Leaf Village.
“Madara, you are not the demon everyone sees you as. You are my friend, and I believe in you.”
– Hashirama Senju
What if Madara became Hokage?
Now, let’s get to the main point. What if Madara became Hokage? First, we’ll count the benefits, then the drawbacks. The benefits are significant enough to change the entire Naruto world. For instance, the Uchiha massacre wouldn’t happen; they would still be alive. The hatred the Uchiha had towards the Konoha villagers would gradually fade as they gained respect because their leader was Hokage.
Uchiha Clan Revival: The Impact of Madara’s Leadership
If Madara had become the first Hokage, slowly but surely, Tobirama and Danzo would eliminate their hatred against all the Uchiha. This means Shisui wouldn’t die, and Itachi wouldn’t have to become a rogue ninja.
He could have lived a normal life with his family, and one could argue that the Mangekyō Sharingan might not have been activated. All the Tailed Beasts would be in Konoha’s possession, making Konoha the most powerful village, preventing any other country or village from daring to challenge it. Additionally, Rin wouldn’t die, which means Obito wouldn’t become a rogue ninja, and the Fourth Great Ninja War would never happen.
Without Obito becoming a rogue ninja, there would be no Nine-Tails attack on the village, meaning Minato and Kushina would still be alive, and Naruto would never have been orphaned. He would have grown up in a normal family, treated as a hero in the village for being the son of the Fourth Hokage. However, there is also a downside to this: Naruto wouldn’t be as powerful as he is now, and the same applies to Sasuke because Naruto wouldn’t have Kurama, and Sasuke wouldn’t have the Rinnegan. Additionally, Sasuke might not even have the Mangekyō Sharingan.
The Akatsuki’s Fate
Now, let’s talk about the Akatsuki. Well, the Akatsuki wouldn’t have formed, which means Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan might still be alive, and at least Yahiko and Konan’s love story would have been successful. Additionally, Jiraiya wouldn’t have taught them ninjutsu because he would never have met them, meaning the Child of Prophecy wouldn’t exist. Jiraiya would still be alive, and Gaara might still be evil, or perhaps he could have turned good, we can’t be sure. Kaguya would never be revived because Black Zetsu wouldn’t have been able to manipulate Madara.
Governance of the Leaf: Madara’s Leadership and Policies
These are the benefits, but let’s also consider the drawbacks because every coin has two sides. We all know that Madara never compromises. He would do whatever it takes to get what he wants. To protect his village, he would do anything, no matter who stands in his way. Because of this, he would want all the other villages and countries to work under him. To achieve this, he would create a military force and train the Uchiha to serve in it. You know how powerful someone becomes after training under Madara. Just look at Obito, who, at the age of 14, controlled the Nine-Tails.
To control the Ten-Tails, he needed the Mangekyō Sharingan, which requires a significant sacrifice to activate. But I’m sure Madara would find a way to activate the Mangekyō Sharingan for all the Uchiha. If you want to know more about the history of the Sharingan, then read my blog, “The History of Sharingan.”
Madara would enforce strict rules in Konoha, ensuring everyone was treated equally because he didn’t look down on anyone. Though he treated the five Kage like children during the Great Ninja War, Madara was not a bad person. He was a good person. But trouble would arise when Madara’s era ends and the Ōtsutsukis attack Konoha.
Stopping them would be nearly impossible because Naruto wouldn’t be as powerful, and Sasuke wouldn’t have the Rinnegan. They would be powerful but not as powerful as they are now. In such a scenario, Itachi, Obito, Kakashi, and Minato would have to step up, but facing the Ōtsutsuki would be a daunting task. Remember, Naruto had to make a great sacrifice to stop this threat, and we all know the price he paid.
No Alliances Will Be Formed
Besides, the alliance of all villages would not have been made, and Naruto wouldn’t have become a Jinchūriki, meaning there would be no backup. If Black Zetsu somehow managed to revive Kaguya, it would be a huge problem. Another major issue would be that Hinata might never have confessed her love to Naruto, and Boruto wouldn’t have been born. So, whether you find this happy or sad is up to you.
“Madara Uchiha was a born genius. His power, his ambition, and his hatred were beyond measure.”
– Tobirama Senju
Conclusion
Well, the benefits are significant, but the drawbacks are even greater in comparison. You guys tell me what other possibilities there could be if Madara became Hokage. Please like and share this blog. Goodbye!
