Introduction
In our previous Jujutsu Kaisen blog, we learned about all the students of Kyoto Jujutsu High. And as promised, in today’s blog, we’ll learn about the students of Tokyo Jujutsu High, including their Curse Techniques, which grade they are in, etc. In this blog, there will be very light spoilers from the manga, which are not major at all. So, you can read this blog fully. However, I will definitely talk about what was shown in the anime and the Jujutsu Kaisen Zero movie.
Yuji Itadori: The Special First-Year
The first-year student we are going to talk about is Yuji Itadori. Yuji was a high school student who was very gifted. He was breaking national records in shot put, runs very fast. Physically, he was not normal; he was just too good. One day, Megumi comes to his school to locate a cursed object, which was nothing other than a finger of Sukuna—the same Sukuna who is the king of curses. We all know that his 20 fingers have been cut off and scattered here and there. Due to this, many curses start being attracted to Sukuna’s finger, leading to a fight. In such a situation, Yuji ends up eating Sukuna’s finger. Ideally, whoever consumes Sukuna’s finger would be completely dominated by Sukuna. But Yuji somehow manages to suppress him inside, which is a one-in-a-million chance. That’s why Yuji is very special.
Now, because Yuji was able to devour Sukuna’s finger, meaning he didn’t let Sukuna dominate him, a plan was made for Yuji to be fed all the fingers. Then, Yuji would be killed, which would destroy the fingers because, in the real world, it is almost impossible to destroy Sukuna’s fingers. Even Gojo says that they are indestructible. So, this was Yuji’s introduction to how he entered the cursed world.
Now, let’s learn about his powers. Yuji already had strength, speed, reflexes, etc., and he is also able to learn anything very quickly. Yuji’s cursed energy comes from Sukuna, so he has a lot of cursed energy. Additionally, he can combine his strength with cursed energy to attack very powerfully. Apart from this, he can also use Divergent Fist and Black Flash. During the fight with Hanami, we saw that he used Black Flash four times in a row, which is a record in itself.
During the Fearsome Womb Arc, Yuji actually entered into a binding vow with Sukuna. What happens is that Yuji is killed by a special grade curse, which was generated from Sukuna’s fingers. After dying, Yuji strikes a deal with Sukuna: Sukuna would revive him in exchange for something in return. What was the deal? Whenever Sukuna says “enchain,” he gets full control over Yuji’s body for a minute. Additionally, Yuji will not even remember this deal. So, this is how Yuji came back, after which we saw him in the Goodwill Games.
This is basically Yuji’s strength as shown in the anime so far. However, I have read ahead in the manga, so I know what is going to happen with Yuji, but as I promised, I will not give you major spoilers in this blog. So, let’s move on. Don’t worry, we have just started JJK. Gradually, there will be more blogs in which we will discuss all the arcs with manga details. So, you will get all the blogs—follow for that.
This place isn’t just a school—it’s a battlefield where we learn to fight, not just for ourselves, but for everyone who can’t.

Megumi Fushiguro: The Ten Shadows Technique User
Anyway, our next student is Megumi Fushiguro. Megumi is a Grade 2 sorcerer who belongs to the Zenin family, although his father was outcast. For now, he is not connected to the Zenin family. Megumi’s inherited technique is Ten Shadows, which allows him to control ten Shikigami. He can also hide in his shadows and store some items. However, it’s not like he can store anything; it depends on his capacity to carry.
Now, when we are talking about Shikigami, let’s find out which ten Shikigami Megumi has. The first one is Divine Dog, where we see two dogs, one light and one dark. They handle tracking, smelling, and attacking. The white dog was destroyed by Sukuna’s cursed finger, which was a special grade cursed spirit, so its power has now transferred to the black dog. This brings about Divine Dog Totality, which is an improved version of the black Divine Dog, as it now possesses the power of two dogs. It is very effective for attacking and can even fight special grade curses. It may not win, but it can certainly hold its own in a fight. It’s quite powerful now compared to before.
The next one is Nue, which flies and has electric shock wings. It can pick up people with its claws and move them around, serving as a scouting tool and a distraction in fights. The Great Serpent is another Shikigami that can grab people, and that’s its primary function. Then there’s Toad, which can grab people with its tongue and be used for both attack and defence. It can save someone by grabbing them, or it can attack by grabbing and throwing them.
Next comes The Well’s Unknown Abyss, where the powers of Toad and Nue are combined, allowing us to see flying Toads—and not just one, but many of them. Then there’s Max Elephant, which, as the name suggests, is an elephant that can shoot out a large amount of water from its trunk. Being such a large animal, it can also attack.
Then there’s Rabbit Escape, where many rabbits run together to serve as a distraction, allowing the user to prepare for an attack or, if necessary, make a quick escape. Lastly, there’s Mahoraga, the most dangerous Shikigami. The reason it’s dangerous is that no one, not even Megumi, has control over Mahoraga. Yes, if this is unleashed—Megumi’s sort of trump card—it can kill anyone, including the user and the opponent. It’s capable of fighting against special grades as well, making it dangerous for both sides.
These were Megumi’s ten Shikigamis. I should also mention that Megumi has a Domain Expansion called Chimera Shadow Garden. In this domain, there are a lot of fluid shadows that Megumi can use to summon any kind of Shikigami, with each Shikigami operating at 110% of its normal power, making their attacks more lethal. However, it’s worth noting that Megumi has not yet perfected this domain, meaning that his attacks can still miss.
Megumi has a significant role ahead in the manga, but I don’t want to give away spoilers. I promised, and I’m repeating it. But I will say this much: he’s one of the main characters, and Sukuna has a lot of interest in him. In upcoming blogs, we’ll discuss everything with spoilers, so don’t worry. The channel is newly opened, so show your support, help us reach 100k subscribers, and then we’ll talk.
Nobara Kugisaki: The Straw Doll Technique Expert
Our next first-year student is Nobara Kugisaki. We’ve seen Nobara in the anime, and she is a Grade 3 sorcerer. Nobara comes from a village, but she always wanted a city life where she could dress up, shop, and look beautiful—those things are part of her personality. That’s why she came to Tokyo. She also has a plan to meet her childhood friends, Fumi and Sayori, who visited her village for a few days.
Now, if we talk about Nobara’s innate technique, it’s the Straw Doll Technique, which is kind of like Voodoo, though not exactly. Nobara uses a hammer, nails, and straw dolls, and with her cursed energy, she nails the doll, hurting the associated cursed spirit. The damage depends on how much cursed energy Nobara has and how strong the opponent is. Nobara has a lot of cursed energy, so she can do some very heavy attacks with the Straw Doll Technique, such as Resonance and Hairpin.
In Resonance, Nobara connects the straw doll with a body part of her target, strengthening the connection, and then delivers a heavy attack on the doll, which also affects the target’s spirit or cursed energy. In this attack, long black spikes erupt from the target’s body, ripping it apart. With Hairpin, Nobara uses nails and drives them into her opponent. Then she increases her cursed energy and causes an explosion. Of course, wherever there’s an explosion, there’s always damage.
Nobara can also use Black Flash, and she uses herself as an effigy. What does this mean? Well, normally, the doll she attacks becomes the effigy, but she can make herself the effigy too, meaning she can attack herself, and the damage will transfer to the person she’s linked to. Not only can she attack the body, but she can also attack the soul. So, don’t get too close to Nobara; she’s dangerous.
Maki Zenin: The Strength Beyond Cursed Energy
With that, we’ve covered the first-year students. Let’s move on to the second-year students, starting with Maki Zenin.
Maki is Mai’s twin sister, and we’ve already talked about her in detail in a previous blog—how they share the cursed pool, how they have heavenly restrictions, etc. Do read my previous blog for that. I’ll summarise it here: Maki cannot see cursed spirits, so she uses special cursed glasses to see them. She also uses cursed tools in fights. But what’s most impressive about Maki is her physical strength, which is substantial.
In the manga, Maki’s character arc is very strong, but I won’t get into that now. However, I did mention in the last blog that one of Maki and Mai will die, which will make the other one more powerful. And one of them will die—just know that. Maki was stuck in Grade 4 because of her family’s limitations, but she’ll move from Grade 4 to Grade 1. What happens with Maki and Mai in the future, including their amazing fight, is going to be very OP.
Toge Inumaki: The Power of Cursed Speech
Our next second-year student is Toge Inumaki. Toge is a semi-Grade 1 sorcerer who has inherited the Cursed Speech technique from the Inumaki family. You can see a seal of a snake and fangs on Toge’s tongue and mouth, which looks like a tattoo. This seal represents Cursed Speech. Now, you might ask, what is Cursed Speech? Well, whatever Toge says with this technique will happen to the other person or they will have to do what he commands. For example, if Toge says “explode,” the other person will explode. If he says “run away,” they will run away. If he says “sleep,” they will sleep.
This is why you always see Toge saying “Salmon,” “Salmon Roe,” “Bonito Flakes” in the series—because he doesn’t want to accidentally curse someone. Hearing about this power, you might think Toge is very OP and can make anyone do anything. But Cursed Speech has its limitations. First, the power depends on how strong the user is and how much cursed energy they have, as well as how strong the opponent is. Toge has a lot of cursed energy, so he can easily blow away low-level cursed spirits with his Cursed Speech. However, if he fights a Grade 1 or above special grade, his Cursed Speech won’t work as effectively.
As Toge uses his Cursed Speech, his throat gets sore, and he becomes weak. That’s why we saw him in the anime carrying a cough syrup-like medicine to heal his throat quickly so he can use his Cursed Speech again. Overall, Toge is a very interesting character, and his power is unique.
Panda: The Mutated Cursed Corpse
Next up is Panda. As the name suggests, Panda looks like a panda, but he isn’t actually a panda. Yes, Masamichi Yaga created Panda, who is an abrupt, mutated, cursed corpse. Panda is a Grade 2 sorcerer with a lot of cursed energy. Panda has three cores of cursed corpses: first, Panda, which is balanced in terms of attack, defense, mood, etc.; second, Gorilla, where Panda becomes very fast, can attack strongly, and becomes more powerful overall; and third, Triceratops, which is supposedly his feminine side and, we can say, his sister core.
We haven’t been told much about Triceratops yet, but from what I’ve read, it’s clear that since it’s feminine, anyone who sees it will attack, as it’s a bit shy. Not much more is defined about it, so whenever something happens, I’ll update you.
Yuta Okkotsu: The Most Powerful Student
That’s all for now. Our last second-year student is Yuta Okkotsu. We can call Yuta the most powerful student, as he is a special grade sorcerer. In fact, among all the students, if we include everyone, Yuta is the most powerful after Gojo. We primarily saw Yuta in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, where he had a cursed spirit attached to him named Rika-chan. We all know that Rika-chan is a special grade curse in herself. Rika is so powerful that Geto himself said Rika is the queen of cursed spirits. In the movie, we saw how Yuta and Rika were able to defeat Geto, which is a big deal because Geto himself is very powerful.
Now, you might think all of Yuta’s power is because of Rika, and they were bound at the end of the movie, so what’s left for Yuta? Well, that’s not the case. In the movie, we were told that Rika was turned into a cursed spirit because of Yuta. If Rika is so powerful, Yuta must have a lot of cursed energy too, which is true. Yuta has so much cursed energy that many people believe his pool of cursed energy is larger than Satoru Gojo’s. That’s a different story because Gojo has his Six Eyes and Limitless, so his pool doesn’t really end. It can end, but it’s like an ocean—it won’t end easily. So, in real-life scenarios, his cursed pool never really runs out.
After the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, you might wonder what’s left for Yuta now that Rika is gone. But Yuta still has a lot of power; in fact, he’s become even more powerful. At the 2017 Goodwill Event, Yuta alone dominated Kyoto’s students, even Todo, showing how strong he really is. There are some secrets related to Yuta. One is that he is distantly related to Michizane Sugawara, one of the Big Three Vengeful Spirits of Japan, which means Yuta has a lot of fame and power in the Jujutsu community due to his lineage.
Because of this, Yuta has immeasurable cursed energy. He is learning more about Jujutsu and can still summon Rika. Yes, he has many techniques that haven’t been shown in the anime yet, so I don’t want to spoil them. Personally, I believe a separate blog should be made to talk about Yuta, where we discuss all his techniques and delve into his history and lineage. It will be a very interesting blog.
Discover More: Kinji Hakari, Kirara Hoshi, and Future Jujutsu Sorcerers
In our previous blogs, we discussed two other notable third-year students from Tokyo, Kinji Hakari and Kirara Hoshi. If you haven’t read that post yet, I highly recommend checking it out! It offers an in-depth exploration of their unique abilities and why they are considered pivotal figures in their generation, with the potential to match even Gojo Satoru himself. However, mentioning them in this blog would introduce spoilers, so we’ll avoid detailed discussions to keep this post spoiler-free.
At Tokyo Jujutsu High, we don’t fight because we want to, but because we have to—because it’s our duty.

Conclusion
This will be my last Jujutsu Kaisen blog without spoilers because all my future blogs will contain a lot of spoilers as we discuss the manga in detail. So, this special blog about Yuta and Hakari, where we’ll talk about Gojo and faculties, will come out within a week. Share the blog with your friends and follow me in the Facebook and Instagram for more update. Sayonara….
