Introduction
So, guys, the leaks for JJK Chapter 268 are out, and I have to say, a lot of drama has gone down! It seems like Sukuna is gone, and honestly, there had to be some chaos because JJK is on a break next week. So this week, Gege Sensei had to give us a cliffhanger or something substantial. Besides, there are only three chapters left in the JJK manga, so we are nearing the conclusion.
Spoiler Alert: Major Spoilers Ahead!
Before we dive deep into the events of Chapter 268, here’s a heads-up: there are major spoilers ahead. If you’re not caught up or don’t want to know what’s coming next, turn back now. For those ready to jump into the chaos, let’s go!
Sukuna’s Conversation with Megumi: A Battle of Wills
The title of this chapter is “Conclusion.” At the beginning of the chapter, Sukuna is talking to Megumi’s soul. Sukuna says to Megumi, “How did you even think of trying to live? You let your body be taken over by me, then you killed your sister with your own hands. And when someone reached out to help you, you rejected that hand as well. So it’s time, Megumi, that you give up now because even if you want to, you can’t live a good life. It would be better if you stayed quiet and let me handle everything.”
To this, Megumi replies, “Sukuna, you seem to be quite desperate. And if the method to become a cursed object is already set, and if Itadori manages to separate you, you’ll die right here. Moreover, resonance isn’t good for you either. If your 19 fingers disappear, the last finger won’t be able to connect your soul to the effect.”
Basically, Megumi is trying to say that Sukuna is in a pretty bad state right now, and his end is quite near. In fact, Megumi feels somewhat relieved knowing that even Sukuna is afraid of dying. Then Megumi adds, “I never thought from the beginning that I would live a very good life. All the bad things that happened to me were expected; I knew they would happen. But in this world, there are many people besides you, Sukuna. That’s why I think I should try living for someone else once again.”
The Power Shift: Yuji’s Determination and Megumi’s Liberation
From here, the panels shift back to reality and focus on the fights. Yuji’s domain starts to crumble, but at the same time, Sukuna’s reincarnation in Megumi’s body begins to destabilize. Sukuna screams in pain because, quite literally, he is being pulled out of Megumi’s body. Do you understand what this means? Megumi is finally breaking free from Sukuna’s clutches. In fact, he has become free because Yuji has literally peeled Sukuna off Megumi’s body.
Here, Yuji is looking at Sukuna’s residual. By “residual,” I mean that after Sukuna was expelled from Megumi’s body, a strange slime-like form was left behind—that is the residual. This residual was lying on the ground, looking quite disgusting. Yuji asks Sukuna, “So, what will you do now?”
Residual Sukuna: Yuji’s Surprising Offer
The story then goes into a flashback where Yuji had proposed to Sukuna, saying, “If you leave Megumi’s body, I will let you live.” But Sukuna did not agree, and Yuji had to literally pull him out. Now, Yuji isn’t going to let Sukuna live either. Yuji says to Sukuna, “You are me, right?”
Back in reality, Yuji picks up Sukuna’s residual and says, “Some people are unknowingly born with a curse, but what kind of monster we become is just a matter of chance. I had my grandpa to show me the right path; maybe you had no one, Sukuna. So let’s try again, and this time, not to curse someone but to live with someone.” Yuji tells Sukuna that even if no one else accepts him, he can live with him.
Now, friends, I’m not showing you the manga panels, but Yuji is literally holding Sukuna’s residual in his hand and showing compassion for it. It seems like Yuji might consume it—though maybe that didn’t happen, I’m just suggesting that’s what it feels like. He might then let Sukuna live inside him or keep him suppressed, whatever the case may be. However, Sukuna doesn’t like Yuji showing him mercy. Sukuna gets visibly angry at Yuji’s comforting words and says, “I’d like to congratulate you on being such a fool. Yuji Itadori, remember this well: I am a curse.” Yes, Sukuna, you may be a big deal, a powerful curse, but at this point, you are in a very weakened state, and Yuji is going to kill you. Yet, your arrogance doesn’t seem to diminish.
“I don’t want to regret anything. I want to live my life true to myself.
– Nobara Kugisaki
Urame and Hakari: A Clash of Sorcerers
The sense that Sukuna is dying is also felt by Urame and Hakari. Finally, we get to see these two, who’ve been off doing who knows what for so long. Hakari says, “Look, Urame, Sukuna has lost. So what are you guys going to do now?” To this, Urame replies, “It’s the end, so nothing really matters anymore.”
Urame adds, “The only logical reason for Sukuna’s defeat is that he was in an incarnate body.” Essentially, Urame meant that the sorcerers of this generation are lucky they weren’t born a thousand years ago. Otherwise, no one could have defeated Sukuna in his original, true form—not the form he took using Megumi’s body, but his true form from a thousand years ago.
Though I doubt Urame’s words because if Sukuna were in his original form, perhaps Gojo Sensei could have defeated him. I mean, Sukuna only got Mahoraga and the Ten Shadows technique after taking over Megumi’s body, which allowed him to defeat Gojo. So, while I agree that Sukuna might be somewhat weaker in Megumi’s body than in his true form, he also gained certain advantages from Megumi’s body.
So, stop the hypocrisy; if you’ve lost, accept defeat. I’m a Sukuna fan too, but a loss is a loss, okay? If you’ve lost, accept it and don’t make excuses. In response to Urame, Hakari says, “Wasn’t I lucky? This is a compliment to me, of course!” Hakari is indeed lucky, my friends—lucky enough that his domain works in such a way that his luck always shines, and he hits the jackpot.
By the way, Urame’s body also starts to crumble here. So, did Urame lose to Hakari as well? I think Urame did lose. I had a feeling that Gege Sensei wouldn’t show us the fight between Urame and Hakari; he’d just show us the conclusion, which is exactly what we’re seeing now. Whatever the case, I’m happy to say that our drip god, Hakari, is still alive and has won this fight.
The Return of the Trio: Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji’s Reunion
Now, the scene shifts to where Megumi finally gets up, and he asks, “What are you two doing?” Here, Megumi sees Yuji and Nobara, who are trying to surprise him with a good feeling.
Now, these three—Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji—are talking about how all three of them managed to survive. And when you think about it, it’s quite surprising. First, Yuji was killed when Sukuna tore out his heart, but Yuji came back. Then Nobara was killed, but she also came back. And finally, Megumi was suppressed by Sukuna in a way that made it seem like he would never return, but he came back too.
I have to say, these three kids have come a very long way. Here, they’re talking about whether Nobara being alive surprised the other two or not. In other words, there’s a bit of a slice-of-life conversation happening between them. Remember the early episodes of JJK, where the three of them would wander around and chat with a goofy vibe? This panel captures a bit of that same flavor.
Gojo’s Letters: Revelations and Reactions
Anyway, Yuji gives letters to Nobara and Megumi that Gojo had left for them before he departed. These letters were specifically for Nobara and Megumi, not Yuji, because, of course, Gojo would have spoken directly with Yuji. It’s quite unlike Gojo to write letters to his students, but here we are.
Nobara immediately reads her letter and then crumples it up. Why? Because the letter contained something about her mother, which Nobara didn’t want to know. As for Megumi’s letter—after reading it, he starts laughing in a very strange way. Seeing Megumi laugh, Yuji and Nobara become curious and decide to read Megumi’s letter themselves. And they are very surprised.
In the letter, Gojo wrote to Megumi, “Megumi, my dear, your father is no longer in this world because I killed him.” Remember who Megumi’s dad was? That’s right, Daddy Toji. And yes, it was Gojo who killed him. It seems that Megumi isn’t really affected by this anymore, which is probably why he’s laughing so freely. So, the mood is somewhat light, even though the topics are quite dark.
Then Nobara says she wants to meet up with Maki and the others, and she invites Megumi to join them. Yuji says he needs to apologize and thank everyone. Megumi gets confused, so Yuji explains that it’s about Yuta. Yuji says they need to save Yuta’s life.
The Final Countdown: What Lies Ahead?
Here, we see Maki, Toge, Panda, Kusakabe, Miwa, and Momo. Maki, perhaps shouting, exclaims, “Yuta, you damn…!” Hearing this, Megumi also becomes worried, thinking, “What kind of method to save Yuta involves him being shouted at and cursed?” And that’s where the chapter ends, with the editor’s note saying, “Will Yuta be saved? Is Yuta still alive?”
And now there are only three chapters left until the finale. Finale? Wait a minute, isn’t Sukuna dead? Is there still a finale left, or are these just random events leading to the final chapter? Frankly speaking, this chapter felt like a finale to me because Sukuna was defeated here. What twist could still happen now? But we don’t know—Gege might throw a big twist in the last three chapters.
“The stronger the curse, the stronger the technique needed to dispel it.”
– Toji Fushiguro

And anyway, there’s a break next week, so this chapter needed some intense action. Just remember, there are still three chapters left. I’m eagerly waiting for these three chapters to see what happens next. Whatever the case, quite a lot has been wrapped up in this chapter. And now, I’d like to ask you: What do you think? Was this ending a bit rushed? Were things wrapped up too quickly? And could there be a twist in the next three chapters? Share all your thoughts and opinions in the comments.
