Introduction:
We are going to discuss the ending of Solo Leveling and the time travel that happens at the end. This isn’t the first time that time travel has occurred in Solo Leveling, but in this part, the time travel is detailed. So, let’s start the blog.
The Emergence of Special-Grade Dungeon Gates
Special-grade dungeon gates appear over eight countries worldwide, and these gates are so powerful that even Sung Jin-Woo thinks that if all the monsters from these gates come out at once, he might not be able to fight them. Even if his team includes national-level hunters, they would have a lot of difficulty fighting. This is because demons or giants are going to come from these gates. The Monarch of Destruction, the Dragon King, and his army are also coming. Jin-Woo thinks that if the Dragon King comes to kill, he will come for him because of his Shadow Monarch powers.
At this time, Jin-Woo is in Korea, so people think that when the Dragon King attacks, it will be in Korea, Japan, or China. But the Dragon King is not any less; he comes with the aim of destroying the entire world. He knows that Jin-Woo has the power of Arise, meaning that as he kills his army, he will recruit them into his team. So he takes his entire army to Canada and starts killing everyone there. From the name Dragon King, you can guess that his army includes dragons. The Dragon King orders his army to turn everything in front of them to ashes.
Jin-Woo’s Quest for the Rune Stone
Then we are shown Director David Brennan of the Federal Bureau. As soon as he learns that the Dragon King has destroyed all of Canada and his next target is America, he just sits there drinking and thinking that the world is going to end, and no one can save it. But then Jin-Woo arrives, using his teleportation skill he acquired after killing the Demon King, which I mentioned in my previous blog named “The Demon King vs. Jin-Woo.” After meeting the director, Jin-Woo asks for the rune stone they kept after Kamish died. The director agrees to give him the rune stone but asks why he needs it. Jin-Woo replies that he needs it to counterattack. For more details about the rune stone, I suggest you read my other blog named “Shadow Soldiers of Sung Jin-Woo.”
Then the director takes Jin-Woo to the Federal Bureau’s basement, where the rune stone is kept. The director asks Jin-Woo what the rune stone is and why he is so desperate to get it. Jin-Woo explains that it is a gift from the Rulers to humans and hunters. When a Beast dies, they leave behind a rune stone containing all their powers. Using these, mana is released worldwide, making hunters more powerful. The Rulers want this because they don’t want the Monarchs to come and destroy the Earth. They want to make the Earth’s people strong enough to fight the Monarchs, which is only possible because of mana. After explaining this, Jin-Woo asks the director for another favour. The director is shocked and wonders what else Jin-Woo needs.
“I have walked this path alone, but for the sake of those I love, I will carry this burden and rewrite our fate.”
– Sung Jin-Woo
Meeting Norma: Foreseeing the Future
Then we are shown Norma. You might think, who is Norma? But don’t worry, I will introduce her. Seeing her, Jin-Woo explains that he heard she can see the future. Jin-Woo asked her to see his future. At first, she hesitates but then agrees to help Jin-Woo. Then she falls into tears and asks him if he can bear the cruel burden alone. She also asks if he is thinking of sacrificing himself.
Then Jin-Woo told her that this means… The work plan will go as follows. And he left the place. After that, he goes to the top of a building. Jin-Woo calls Miss Cha and says, “Sorry, I was busy, so I couldn’t answer the call.” Then Miss Cha asks, “Is it really you?” Jin-Woo says, “Yes, we will meet soon.” Miss Cha is a little sad about this. Meanwhile, the world is transformed into a battlefield. At this moment, no one has any idea who will survive and who will be killed.
Global Alliances and the Battlefield
After this, we are informed about all the alliances and teams that are about to enter the battlefield. The first is the Asian Hunter Alliance, the second is the European Hunter Alliance, then the African Guild Coalition, and lastly, the Chinese Emergency Response Union. Thousands of hunters from the Union join this battlefield, but it is of no use because by the time they reach Canada, the Dragon King has already decimated Canada’s population. The Dragon King, also known as Antares, says, “I have killed millions of your kind. How long do you think you can hide?” Then, with a determined mindset, Jin-Woo says, “Don’t worry. I am coming there soon.”
Following this, the battlefield is entered, and we witness the badass fight between Jin-Woo and the Dragon King. This marks the end of this part of the video. As for the fight involving Jin-Woo, I will explain it, but not in this blog, because if I do, this blog will become too lengthy. I want to explain it properly in a separate blog because it is one of the most badass fights in the entire series. Don’t worry; if this blog receives a good response, I will upload the fight blog soon
The Aftermath of the Battle
Part two begins when Jin-Woo’s fight is complete. Jin-Woo barely manages to defeat the Dragon King. After their fight, more rulers arrive at the battleground. The Dragon King then says, “You couldn’t communicate with the rulers, so how did you manage to do it?” Jin-Woo responds, “There was one way, through the ruler’s vessel, the humans in whom the rulers had entrusted their power.” Suddenly, many rulers arrive. The Dragon King, also known as Antares, says, “Even after losing this battle, you have won the war.” Jin-Woo replies, “It was you, wasn’t it? You were the human who secretly ordered the Monarch of White Flames and the Monarch of Iron Body to attack the Shadow Monarch.”
If you’re a bit confused here, let me clarify. I have already made a blog on this topic where I explained everything. After this, Jin-Woo, in a badass manner, says, “Ashborn remembered you,” and makes a gesture with his middle finger, which you understand what it means.
The Role of the Fragment of Brilliant Light
Seeing this, the Dragon King, also known as Antares, gets enraged. He charges at Jin-Woo, but the rulers inflict so many wounds on him that he cannot move, and at that time the Fragment of Brilliant Light appears. Seeing this, the Dragon King realizes there is no way to survive, and he told that, “I will wait for you in the true world of eternals, not this fake one you created.” As the Dragon King says this, he starts to disappear and tells Jin-Woo they will meet again there. Jin-Woo reassures him, saying, “I won’t take long.”
Jin-Woo’s Request: Reversing Time with the Cup of Reincarnation
Then the Fragment of Brilliant Light says, “You have ended our war. We have no words to thank you.” Jin-Woo says there’s no need for thanks, but he has a request that only the Fragment can fulfill. The Fragment of Brilliant Light agrees to do whatever is within its power and asks what Jin-Woo needs. Jin-Woo asks if the Cup of Reincarnation can be used once more. The Fragment of Brilliant Light confirms, asking if Jin-Woo really wants to use it to reverse time. Jin-Woo affirms this.
The Fragment explains that even after using this divine tool, the beings involved won’t lose their consciousness. The Monarchs will never forget this war. Jin-Woo tells him not to worry about that. He will deal with the Monarchs and their army within the dimensional rift, but he pleads not to send anyone back to Earth after reversing time. The Fragment of Brilliant Light then says, “You want to carry this burden alone. We’ve used Free Incarnation many times but never achieved what we wanted.” After saying this, Jin-Woo places its staff on the ground and says many people died in this battle, and he wants them all to return.
The Fragment of Brilliant Light warns Jin-Woo that the Cup of Reincarnation will expire soon, and if he fails this time, they won’t be able to reverse time again. And if you (Jin-Woo) want, you can be remembered as a hero who stopped the Monarchs’ invasion forever. If you turn back time, no one will remember you, and no one will even remember that you fought this battle. So, do you still want to turn back time? Jin-Woo smiles a little, thinks about his family and friends, and stands up, saying, “Yes.”
Time Reversed: Jin-Woo’s New Beginning
After that, the Fragment of Brilliant Light says that carrying this entire burden alone reminds him of your predecessor, Ashborn. “Alright then, I wish you the best of luck.” Jin-Woo then asks, “Wait, tell me, what will happen to my shadows that didn’t exist in the past?” The Fragment of Brilliant Light replies, “The ones that didn’t exist in the past will disappear, and the ones that did will remain.” Jin-Woo is happy and says, “Okay, I am ready.” The Fragment of Brilliant Light takes out the Cup of Reincarnation and uses it, which affects the entire Earth, sending it back ten years.
After that, we hear the voice of Jin-Woo’s mother, Carrie, calling him, “Jinah, wake your brother up.” Then Jin-Woo’s sister, Jin-Ah, calls for her brother, Jin-Woo. Jin-Woo gets up from his bed, says good morning to everyone, and looks at his father.
If you don’t know, let me tell you that Jin-Woo’s father was also a hunter who disappeared one day due to a gate break. Seeing his father, Jin-Woo becomes very emotional, and everyone asks him, “Why are you crying, Jin-Woo?” Jin-Woo replies, “Maybe I had a bad dream.” He relives his childhood days, and honestly, we all want to relive our childhood. Jin-Woo thinks he should live in peace for a while and enjoy his childhood as a reward for winning the fight. He enjoys his childhood fully, but one day, he leaves a letter for his mother, saying he has some work to do and will return once it’s done
The Dimensional Rift: Defeating the Monarchs
Next, we see a demon’s head getting cut off by no one else but Jin-Woo. This means he has found his shadow army, and then we see Bellion in the dimensional rift, brutally killing all the demons. Jin-Woo says he has won all the battles against the Monarchs and, after struggling, defeated the Monarch of Transfiguration. It has been almost 27 years since he entered the dimensional rift. He now needs to defeat the Dragon King and his army. The good thing is that time in the rift is much faster compared to Earth, meaning 27 years here are only 2 years on Earth. Jin-Woo summons his army by saying “Arise” and heads to the Dragon King’s castle with them.
“You have ended our war and chosen a path of sacrifice. Your courage will be remembered across all realms.
– Fragment of Brilliant Light
The Final Showdown: Jin-Woo vs. Antares
We then see the Dragon King’s army informing him that the Monarch of Transfiguration has been defeated by Jin-Woo and that they should flee. The Dragon King responds, “No, I am tired of running. I will stay here and fight the Shadow Monarch. The Dragon King expresses his surprise at Jin-Woo’s use of the Cup of Reincarnation to reverse time, saying he had expected them to meet in the Eternal Slumber. However, now they are both alive, and only one will survive this time. If you don’t know, the Eternal Slumber works like a domain expansion, where one can create anything they want. Moving forward, the Dragon King reveals his name, Antares, and asks for the Shadow Monarch’s name. Jin-Woo says, “My name is Jin-Woo.”
And the fight begins, and you know who will win. That’s it for today’s blog. If you have any questions or doubts, feel free to comment below for clarification. In the next blog, we will dive into the details of their battle. Thank you for reading.
