Introduction
Welcome to AniBuddyTalk! This is Part 2 of our explanation of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. We’ll pick up where we left off in Part 1. In the final scene of the first part, a mysterious man retrieves Yuta’s ID card, which had fallen earlier, and says, “Looks like I’ll have to return this to him.”
Explaining Toge’s Cursed Speech Power
Then the scene shifts and we see while Toge is watering plants at school, Panda explains all of Toge’s powers to Yuta. He tells Yuta that when Toge was born, he had the ability to use cursed speech, and during his childhood, he unintentionally cursed people by speaking, which led to many problems. While they talk, Maki calls Yuta for training, and Panda starts flirting with her, causing Yuta to get embarrassed. Panda jokes around with Maki, but Maki brushes him off.
Yuta, feeling confused, asks Maki, “Do you know how I can channel cursed energy into my katana?” Annoyed, Maki responds, “Don’t ever ask me about cursed energy again.” Yuta is shocked by her response, but Panda understands why she said that. Maki doesn’t have any cursed energy herself, so she wouldn’t know how to imbue it into a weapon.
Later, while investigating the shopping district, Gojo discovers that, aside from the property damage, there’s a strange lingering scent. He goes to the spot where someone had been sitting and realizes that a powerful curse was present there. Ijichi (assistant director at Tokyo Jujutsu High) explains that this curse was a semi-grade one, and he feels embarrassed for not being fully prepared for such a threat. However, Gojo assures Ijichi that it wasn’t his fault.
I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore. I want to be needed by someone.

Introduction to Suguru Geto
The scene then shifts to a classroom where a man stands in front of three banners that read: “Love the strong, punish the weak, and kill the fools.” Gojo explains that the man is none other than Suguru Geto, a special-grade sorcerer who was expelled from Jujutsu High along with three others after they cursed over a hundred normal people, leading to their deaths. Gojo labels Geto as the worst and most dangerous curse user.
Later, we see a woman and her daughter visiting Geto’s home. The woman seeks help for her daughter, and Geto quickly realizes that a curse is physically harming the girl, though they cannot see it. With ease, Geto removes the curse and traps it in a small sphere, providing relief to the girl. Afterward, Geto comments to his assistant about how stupid humans are, incapable of understanding the world of curses. His assistant informs him of a meeting with their leaders, and Geto remarks that he needs to cleanse himself of the “monkey smell” he gets from interacting with non-sorcerers.
Another customer arrives, deeply troubled by a curse. Geto’s assistant mentions that this man had donated 105 billion yen to their cause but hasn’t contributed anything in the last six months. Geto mocks the man, saying, “What’s the point of a monkey who can’t gather money?” He snaps his fingers, and a curse begins devouring the man’s face, eventually leaving him in a pool of blood. Geto’s assistant praises him, and Geto smugly comments that this is why he calls them monkeys.
Geto then meets with his followers, referring to them as his “children.” He tells them that they will create a paradise for sorcerers and announces his plan to declare war on Jujutsu High.
Geto Declares War
Back at the school, Yuta starts feeling uneasy, but his friends assure him that everything is fine. Meanwhile, Gojo and the principal discuss the situation, and Gojo becomes convinced that Geto is behind all the recent events. As tensions rise, Panda and Toge realize that Yuta’s intuition was correct. Suddenly, a cursed being with wings appears, and Geto and his gang descend upon the scene.
Geto quickly approaches Yuta, introducing himself and trying to convince Yuta to join his cause. However, just as things escalate, Gojo, the principal, and the rest of the sorcerers arrive, ready to confront Geto and his followers.
Geto taunts them, saying, “Maki is a failure even within her own clan, so why would I need people like you in the world I envision? In the world I’m thinking of, there’s no place for monkeys like you.” This comment hits Yuta hard, as he can’t stand anyone insulting his friends.
Gojo steps in and asks Geto, “Why are you here?” Geto smirks and replies, “I’ve come to declare war. On December 24th, my group will attack both Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Kyoto .” Geto also threatens the sorcerers, and in a flashback, we learn more about Geto’s beliefs. He explains that Jujutsu sorcerers protect non-sorcerers. He sees non-sorcerers as inferior, calling them “monkeys” who are unworthy of protection.
The War Has Begun
Ijichi then files a report about Geto, revealing that Geto had created an organization that claimed to free people from curses. However, it turns out that Geto was actually absorbing all those curses himself, and over the years, he had amassed tremendous power. We jump forward to December 24th, when Geto sends his forces to attack Tokyo, Shinjuku and Kyoto as a distraction. His real plan is to sneak into Jujutsu High and kill Yuta, then absorb Rika to gain even more power. As a special-grade sorcerer, this would allow him to tip the balance of power in his favor.
Though Rika’s curse is deeply connected to Yuta, Geto believes that if he can kill Yuta, he will be able to absorb Rika. While planning this, Geto kills several Jujutsu sorcerers who stand in his way.
Meanwhile, Yuta and Maki are talking, and Maki shares more about her background. She explains that she comes from the Zenin clan, a prestigious family, but she has no cursed energy. Without her glasses, she can’t even see curses, and the idea of imbuing cursed energy into a weapon is beyond her ability. Yet, despite these challenges, she entered Jujutsu High to prove her worth.
Yuta finally understands why Maki didn’t talk much about herself before, but now, she’s pushing herself to improve alongside her friends. Yuta is inspired by her strength and tells her, “You’re so strong and amazing.” Maki remembers a moment from her past when her mother belittled her in front of everyone, saying, “You’re nothing. You’ll never achieve anything.” Hearing Yuta’s kind words, Maki feels better, though she doesn’t show it.
Geto suddenly drops a veil around jujutsu high, curses start attacking. Geto’s real plan is to kill Yuta and take control of Rika. Maki notices Geto approaching and challenges him to a fight. Gojo realizes that Geto isn’t nearby and thinks he might be in another city. Just then, Gojo receives a report about Yuta that he had requested earlier. After reading it, Gojo immediately rushes to find Panda and Toge, saying, “You’re needed at the school! I’ll deal with the other threats first, then I’ll join you.”
At the same time, Geto reveals his true intentions—to declare war on Jujutsu sorcerers. He plans to launch simultaneous attacks on Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Kyoto on December 24th, using these attacks to distract the sorcerers while he aims to absorb Rika’s power by killing Yuta. Geto knows that if he can absorb Rika, he’ll become incredibly powerful and nearly unstoppable.
Back at the school, Panda, and Toge begin to sense something is off. A powerful curse user emerges from the veil, and the battle begins. Panda shifts into his gorilla mode, attacking with all his strength, but Geto easily overpowers him, leaving Panda injured. As Panda falls, Yuta arrives and sees his friends lying unconscious. Toge, barely able to speak, urges Yuta to run, but Yuta is furious. He confronts Geto, who once again tries to manipulate Yuta into joining his side.
Rika’s Full Power Manifested
Filled with rage, Yuta calls upon Rika, manifesting her full form. Meanwhile, the other students are evacuated to safety. Yuta, using an advanced healing spell, heals his friends, but Maki is badly injured. She blames herself, saying it’s her fault for what happened. Yuta, distressed, tells her, “Don’t say that! Please, Maki, don’t get hurt. I’m so sorry. I’ll never be mad at you!” Maki, touched by his words, responds, “I never thought you’d be mad at me.”
Rika, in her full form, begins to fight Geto. Yuta uses the cursed megaphone that Rika creates to amplify his energy, channeling it into an enormous attack. Yuta yells, “Destroy them!” and all the curses surrounding them are obliterated. Geto, impressed by Yuta’s ability to master cursed energy and perform such advanced techniques in just one year, realizes how skilled Yuta is. However, Geto is still determined to absorb Rika’s power.
Despite Yuta’s strength, Geto makes one last attempt to overpower him, but Yuta refuses to back down. He stands firm, telling Geto that he will protect his friends no matter what and that he will defeat him. Rika unleashes a devastating attack, and Geto is thrown back, realizing just how powerful Yuta and Rika are together.
In the end, Geto acknowledges Yuta’s strength but remains fixated on his plan to take control of Rika. Yuta, however, stands his ground, prepared to fight to his last breath to protect those he cares about.
The Other Jujutsu Sorcerers
The scene shifts to Tokyo, where everyone is working together to deal with the curses. Mei finishes off a curse and demands a bonus for her work. Mimiko and Nanako are also handling curses and start talking about how Geto once saved them during their childhood. As they fight, Gojo appears, engaging in battle and finishing off another section of the cursed ropes, but he realizes that due to the curse’s effects, his Infinity Technique isn’t working as efficiently. Gojo begins to question how much longer he can hold out, given that his technique is being hindered.
Meanwhile, a doctor tends to the injured, and we see a flashback where Gojo explains that the more anger Yuta feels, the more his body fills with cursed energy. Yuta is given a three-part staff to fight alongside his friends. He tells Rika to stay with him, and they continue forward together. Geto, meanwhile, taunts Yuta, saying, “Do you know why humans sit at the top of the food chain? It’s because they’ve invented things more powerful than themselves—like gods.” Geto then accuses Yuta of acting like a child, saying, “You want to be a god, but you’ll never be one.”
Yuta replies, “You’re the one acting like a child because you want to be a god, but that can’t happen.” Geto declares his intention to create a world where only a select few people exist, as he’s tired of seeing weak people fighting together. He attacks but notices that Yuta has become much faster than before. However, Geto breaks Yuta’s katana and mocks him for pouring too much cursed energy into it, saying, “You made the mistake of putting too much cursed energy into your sword—more than you can handle.”
Despite this setback, Yuta charges at Geto and punches him in the face, knocking him down. Geto, impressed, comments that he doesn’t fully understand Yuta’s motives. However, Yuta declares, “I don’t care what your plans are. All I know is that I’ll do whatever it takes to protect my friends, and that means killing you.”
Geto then reveals that there are only a four people in the world who have been given the title of “special grade,” and there are 14 special-grade curses in total. He announces that he’s about to summon one of them and pour his own cursed energy into it. Before attacking, Geto activates his ultimate technique: “Cursed Spirit Manipulation: Supreme Curse Technique: Uzumaki.”
The scene cuts to Nanami, who is fighting a powerful curse that had killed many sorcerers. Nanami uses his “Ratio Technique” and delivers a crushing blow to the curse. Elsewhere, the students at Jujutsu High are dealing with their own curses, and Todo is in a rush because he wants to watch his favorite live show so he’s defeating curses as quickly as possible.
The Final Fight and the Decisive Blow
As the battle intensifies, Yuta remembers his childhood, recalling the genuine love he had for Rika. He thanks her for protecting him all these years, for loving him, and for staying by his side. Now, he tells Rika that he wants to use her power one last time to stop Geto, even if it means sacrificing his own life. Yuta is ready to give up his entire body and soul just to use Rika’s full power one more time, acknowledging that he’ll die afterward. He tells Rika that he loves her, and off-screen, we see them combine their powers.
Rika manifests at full strength, and Geto realizes that Yuta has done this to unlock Rika’s true cursed energy. Geto calls Yuta a fool for allowing Rika to take advantage of him, but Yuta replies, “No, our love is real.” Rika’s immense energy overwhelms Geto’s ultimate curse technique, Uzumaki, and destroys half of the campus in the process.
Geto is left shocked by the sheer power of Rika and Yuta’s bond, realizing that he may have underestimated the strength of their connection.
Geto is flung through the air, and one of his arms is broken by Rika’s immense power, leaving him even more impressed. As he sits down, battered, Gojo approaches him. Geto then comments to Gojo, “You’re very cunning. You sent Toge and Panda because you knew they would lose and Yuta would get mad and unleash Rika’s full potential, didn’t you?” Gojo calmly responds, “No, that wasn’t the plan. I trusted you wouldn’t kill young jujutsu sorcerers without any reason.”
Geto and Gojo used to be close friends, but now the trust between them has completely eroded. Geto gives Yuta his ID card back, and Gojo realizes that Geto was responsible for the elementary school curse. When Gojo asks him if he has any last words, Geto, despite hating humanity, reveals that he never hated the students of Jujutsu High.
Gojo approaches Geto and whispers something in his ear, leaving Geto visibly shaken. Shocked by whatever was said, Geto mutters that at least he was able to cast one final curse before everything ends.
Aftermath of the Fight
Yuta regains consciousness, with Maki, Panda, and Toge by his side. He asks how they’re doing. Panda’s arm is still badly injured, but Toge reminds Yuta not to worry, as Panda can heal over time. Panda thanks Yuta for saving his life, but the group can sense something heavy weighing on Yuta. Maki asks Yuta what happened, and Yuta explains that in exchange for using Rika’s full power, he has sacrificed himself. This angers Maki, as she doesn’t want Yuta to die.
Before they can discuss it further, Rika’s form begins to change, reverting back to her 10-year-old self, wearing the same clothes she had worn when she died. Just then, Gojo arrives, clapping, and for the first time, everyone sees Gojo without his blindfold. He reveals that through his investigation, he has uncovered the truth behind Rika and Yuta’s connection.
Gojo explains that Rika had no cursed user lineage and no connection to sorcery at all. But as for Yuta, it turns out that he is a descendant of one of the most powerful sorcerers in history—Sugawara no Michizane. As we found out, Yuta is a distant relative of Satoru Gojo. Yuta doesn’t fully understand what this means, but Gojo explains to him that he hails from one of Japan’s three great sorcerer families: the Gojos.
Now, here’s where the theory gets confirmed. Yuta didn’t curse Rika; rather, it was Rika who cursed Yuta on the day she died. Yuta, with all his heart, wished for Rika to stay alive, which is why her soul became bound to him since he was only 10 years old. Gojo explains that Yuta had unconsciously created this curse, and once Yuta released it, everything returned to normal. Yuta then apologizes to Rika for cursing her and to everyone who was harmed because of it. He also takes responsibility for all the casualties caused during the “Night Parade of a Hundred Demons” attack led by Suguru Geto.
Rika, in turn, thanks Yuta for the six years they spent together as cursed spirit and sorcerer. She admits that she was happier with him as a cursed spirit than she might have been had she remained alive. She bids him farewell and tells him not to rush after her, urging him to live his life. She then leaves, and shortly after, as snow begins to fall, Yuta is reassured that everything will be fine.
We then see Yuta being called by his comrades, and in one scene, we are shown Yuta still wearing the ring Rika gave him. He walks away with his friends, and in a later scene, he is seen in an African city with Miguel, enjoying his time with him.
Miguel then asks if Yuta will stay there permanently, and Yuta responds, “Yes.” Miguel says, “Okay, let’s go then.” As they’re talking, Gojo arrives, and Yuta is surprised. It’s a moment of relief, and Gojo tells Yuta it has been a long time. The movie ends at this point.
Being a sorcerer is a job. You don’t always have to like your job to do it well.
