Introduction
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is going to end in the next five chapters. Yes, you heard it right, and this is not a leaked rumor; Gege Akutami himself has confirmed this news. We all know that for the past several chapters, there has been an intense battle raging within the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, with Sukuna on one side and everyone else on the other. And it’s all going to end soon. So let’s talk a little about this topic.
What to Expect in the Last Five Chapters
If we consider that the remaining five chapters will have their regular length, there are only about 100 pages left in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen manga. And these 100 pages are not a novel or piece of writing but literally manga, where most of the content is images, and the characters’ dialogues are the main focus. The point here is that in these remaining five chapters, we won’t be seeing a vast amount of content. It means that many things will be conveyed to us through dialogues in just these five chapters. Think about it. And this kind of proves that the entire plotline surrounding the merger is likely going to be sidelined.
The Merger: Will It Be Addressed?
Did you forget so quickly? There was also a villain named Kenjaku in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, who had been plotting and planning for the past thousand years. He possessed the bodies of several sorcerers and conducted numerous dangerous experiments. In fact, he even took over a girl’s body and literally triggered the white flash so that Yuji could use the black flash. Kenjaku’s motive behind all this was to start the Culling Game, which eventually happened. And the Culling Game was executed well, maybe still going on, but we don’t see the merger happening.
Our expectations were that by the end of Jujutsu Kaisen, we would witness a grand merger where an unknown, enormous entity would emerge, and then everyone would fight against it. Even if not that, we expected something huge to happen, like all non-sorcerers becoming sorcerers or all of them dying—something terrifying and unthinkable. But now it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen. And this was kind of in our face, but we just didn’t see it.
I mean, think about it: if the merger had happened and something really catastrophic had occurred, who would be left to fight? So who’s left to fight? Sukuna has already put everyone to sleep. So yeah, I personally feel that we won’t see the merger in these five chapters. And even if we do, it will happen in a very rushed and unexpected way, something we weren’t really anticipating. The final point of all this yapping is that you guys should forget about the merger—most likely, it’s not happening. This is the final battle where, hopefully, Sukuna will be defeated. But let me tell you something, my friends: there’s still a possibility that the merger could happen. But how Gege will pull off the merger in these five chapters is beyond me.
Well, Gege clearly stated that he’s working extremely hard on the final chapter and hopefully will satisfy all the readers. Now, we all know that not all readers can be satisfied. In fact, if the ending isn’t good, I’ll cry too, and if it is good, I’ll celebrate as well. But again, note that a lot of effort is being put into the last chapter. Could it be that the final chapter’s length will be bigger than a regular chapter?
Basically, I believe that it’s possible that the last chapter of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga won’t just be 20 pages but could be 50 or even 100 pages long. And if that’s the case, Gege would have plenty of extra pages where he could start and wrap up the merger nicely. Only then would the ending be truly satisfying, right? It wouldn’t feel rushed, and maybe this is what Gege subtly hinted at in his statement. Who knows? I’m just guessing here—my guess could be wrong. But there’s no harm in guessing; it doesn’t cost me anything. Now you might say, “Brother, your mind is stuck on the merger. Move beyond the merger.” So let’s move on from the merger.
Other aspects of JJK
Moving forward, let’s talk about some other aspects of JJK. So, what should we discuss? Okay, what about Hakari and Uraume? They were fighting parallel to Sukuna, right? But we haven’t been told anything about their fight. So, are they just chilling in the clouds, eating popcorn, vibing to some tunes, and enjoying Sukuna’s fight like we are?
The point is, there’s no sign of Hakari and Uraume. And while I agree that their fight could be concluded in the next five chapters, Gege-sensei wouldn’t just kill them off-screen, would he? Even if someone else takes their place, it still feels like we’ve been waiting too long. Literally, when was the last time we saw them? I can’t even remember—maybe around chapter 250?
“Even if I stop, the future will continue on without me.”
– Kenjaku
Yuji’s Domain Expansion
So yeah, that’s another plotline that needs to be closed within the next five chapters. Given Gege-sensei’s expertise, he could wrap this plotline up in just a panel or two. Forget about Hakari—Yuji also used his Domain Expansion, right? And although we got a glimpse of Yuji’s domain during the fights, there was no real conclusion about it.
We haven’t been given any facts or theories or anything to help us understand how Yuji’s domain works. So, that also needs to be explained in the next five chapters. It has to be, right? How Yuji’s domain works, how it affects Sukuna, and all that. Because if Yuji ends up defeating Sukuna using his domain without any explanation, I don’t know about you, but I would feel a bit unsatisfied.
The Fate of Key Characters: Toge, Maki, Gojo, and Yuta
Apart from that, Toge hasn’t actively jumped into the fight yet. Yeah, I know, he did play a part once when he told Sukuna to freeze, but you’d agree that Toge’s character was quite interesting and had a lot of potential. However, his potential wasn’t fully utilized. Forget about fully utilizing it—his potential wasn’t even used up to 25%. And I’m kind of sure that Toge won’t get much screen time in the next five chapters either.
Then what happened to Maki? And what about Gojo and Yuta, aka “Gota”? Where are they in the fight? Are they even alive, or have they already died? Literally, there are so many unanswered questions. Now, consider that in the end, Sukuna is defeated. After his death, what changes will occur in the Jujutsu world? It’s a common thing in manga to show a time skip and a chapter where we see how the world has changed—who got married to whom, who had kids, like what happened in Harry Potter. But that was a novel. Even in Demon Slayer, we saw something similar, a kind of time skip showing them in another world and all that. So, will we see something like that in JJK as well? And if it happens, will it be within these five chapters, or will we get a bonus chapter for that?
And are there any bonus contents coming after the JJK manga ends, so that these five chapters focus solely on the ending, and we get some bonus content later to see other things? Basically, what I’m asking is, could we see a spin-off after the JJK manga ends? I don’t know, but what I do know is that we, the JJK fans, wanted to see Sukuna’s backstory—at least one fight from Sukuna’s past and all that. But we haven’t really gotten much of that either. Again, I keep repeating myself, but how many things can be covered in just five chapters? I’m listing so many things that are left unexplained in JJK, and can everything really be covered in just five chapters?
Will the Ending Feel Rushed or Satisfying?
Anyway, leaving these things aside, if we talk about the potential ending of JJK, hopefully, Sukuna will be defeated in the end, and of course, Yuji and Megumi will fight together because Megumi is kind of coming back, as we saw in the last chapter. Now, what will be the outcome of this fight? Well, for starters, Sukuna should obviously be defeated because he’s the villain, and it would only be satisfying if he dies. I hope so. But it would be really interesting to see if Yuji and Megumi also die. I mean, will both of them die? Or will neither of them die? Or maybe Yuji will die, and Megumi will survive? Or Megumi will die, and Yuji will survive? There are a lot of possibilities; anything can happen.
But if we look at Gege-sensei’s writing history, I think all three of them might die—Sukuna, Yuji, and Megumi. So that’s my guess. Now, you guys also make your guesses: what do you think will happen at the end? And since you’re guessing, also guess whether the merger will happen or not. What do you think? I know I mentioned the merger point at the start of the blog, but still, share your opinion on it.
Overall, the point of this whole blog is that there’s still a lot of potential and content left in Jujutsu Kaisen, and hearing that it will all be wrapped up in just the next five chapters feels a bit strange to me. It gives me a feeling of injustice. In my opinion, if JJK went on for 300-plus chapters, things could be explained more thoroughly. Amazing plots could be developed, with detailed explanations, flashbacks, high-stakes fights, and stories. But here we are, folks—chapter 271 is going to be JJK’s last chapter. I still hope that the final chapter turns out to be around 100 pages long, so we get a little extra fun out of it. Otherwise, I personally feel that wrapping it up in just five chapters might feel a bit rushed.
“I don’t know how I’ll feel when I’m dead, but I don’t want to regret the way I lived.
– Yuji Itador
Conclusion
But then again, you can’t say anything for sure, my friends, because we’re talking about Gege-sensei here. It could turn out that in the next five chapters, he pulls off something so amazing that our minds are completely blown—we’d be like, “Wow, we never thought something like this could happen!” So yeah, share your opinion on this in the comments section too—do you think the ending in the next five chapters will feel rushed, or will it be done well?
And while you’re sharing your opinions, remember to keep it civil. No cursing, no fighting in the comments section, okay? Whatever happens, JJK was an absolute rollercoaster, and now we’re in the endgame. And since only five chapters are left, I’ll be covering any leaks that come out about them in a separate blog. And when JJK finally ends, we’ll say our final goodbye to it, and we’ll plan something special for that as well.
So with that, this short blog comes to an end. If you liked the blog, please like and share it. We keep bringing blogs like this. I’ll see you guys in the next one. Sayonara….
