Introduction
In the manga, a fierce battle between Gojō and Sukuna is currently raging, and we’ve covered it up to chapter 231. Continuing from there, we’ll dive into the next four chapters, 232 to 235. Trust me, so much has happened in these chapters, with the tables turning multiple times—it’s intense, with heart-pounding action keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.
The Dharma Wheel Spins: Mahoraga’s Adaptation Advances
At the end of chapter 231, we saw the Dharma Wheel spin once. If it spins four times in total, Mahoraga will fully adapt to Gojō’s Infinity. As chapter 232 begins, we witness the second spin, and Gojō starts physically assaulting Sukuna. Sukuna just needs to buy more time because once the wheel completes all four spins, Mahoraga will join the fight, putting Gojō in serious trouble.
Then, the third spin occurs, causing Gojō’s students to panic. Yuji initiates a discussion, questioning how Mahoraga actually adapts to attacks. Does it analyze an attack over time and then adapt, or does it adjust based on the number of times it’s hit? It’s unclear whether Mahoraga’s technique involves time or multiple strikes, but either way, Gojō needs to figure it out and plan his strategy accordingly.
Gojo’s Red Attack and Black Flash: Turning the Tables
We then see Gojō using Reversal Red, and Sukuna immediately employs Domain Amplification to minimize the damage. Everyone is shocked at how well Sukuna handles Reversal Red. Sukuna even taunts Gojō, saying he’s getting sloppy and that his moves are becoming predictable. But Gojō calmly responds that the Red attack hasn’t exploded yet. Suddenly, we see Gojō’s Red attack circling around the entire building and exploding behind Sukuna, dealing significant damage.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Gojō lands a devastating Black Flash on Sukuna, knocking him out cold. Yes, you heard that right—Sukuna is literally knocked out, and the Dharma Wheel on his head falls off. But just before it hits the ground, the wheel spins a fourth time, and with that, Mahoraga enters the battle and slashes Gojō.
“We carry the weight of those we’ve lost, not to be burdened, but to honor their memory as we move forward.”
– Yuji Itadori
Mahoraga vs. Gojo: A Desperate Struggle
Now, Gojō obviously heals the cut using his Reverse Cursed Technique, but it’s noteworthy that his healing is slowing down, meaning Gojō now needs more time to recover. Meanwhile, the students outside are discussing the intense battle.
They note that the only person who has ever given Gojō such a tough fight before was Toji, but back then, Gojō wasn’t as strong as he is now. So, Gojō quickly launches an attack on Mahoraga, trying to regain his lost momentum. At that moment, Sukuna regains consciousness and uses Rabbit Escape to cloud Gojō’s vision.
The Three-on-One Battle: Gojo’s Biggest Challenge Yet
Mahoraga has already adapted to Infinity, which means it can now attack Gojō directly. Sukuna is defending Mahoraga to ensure it can fight Gojō without interference; otherwise, in a one-on-one battle, Gojō would easily defeat Mahoraga. In simpler terms, it’s now a two-on-one fight, which isn’t good news for Gojō. Gojō taunts Sukuna, asking if the pain from the Black Flash hasn’t subsided yet, and in response, Sukuna throws a fire extinguisher at Gojō, filling the area with smoke.
Taking advantage of the smoke, Sukuna uses his Piercing Blood attack on Gojō. Since Gojō was engaged in battle with Mahoraga at that moment, he doesn’t fully anticipate the attack, and because Mahoraga is actively fighting Gojō, Infinity isn’t working. As a result, the Piercing Blood attack hits Gojō’s hand, making him realize that the battle has reached a new level of intensity. He also notices Sukuna’s incredible control over his cursed techniques.
For example, although Sukuna didn’t summon Max Elephant, he still used its water ability as part of the Piercing Blood attack.
However, it will take some time for Sukuna to adapt to Reversal Red, which is good news for Gojō. Suddenly, Sukuna declares that this fight isn’t just a two-on-one—it’s a three-on-one. With that, Sukuna summons another Shikigami, a fusion of Nue and Totality, named Agito. Now, Sukuna, Agito, and Mahoraga attack Gojō together.
Surviving these three simultaneous attacks is a tough challenge for Gojō. He uses Reversal Red on Mahoraga, but it’s not very effective. Gojō realizes that his attack output has decreased, and Mahoraga is starting to adapt to Red. Mahoraga doesn’t adapt to an attack all at once but rather in stages—first a little, then more, and finally fully. Right now, Mahoraga hasn’t fully adapted to Red, but it’s gradually getting there, meaning Red won’t deal much damage to him anymore. Gojō will need to find another attack to take out Mahoraga in one shot, and that one-shot kill might be what you’re thinking—Hollow Purple.
Gojo’s Hollow Purple: A Game-Changing Attack
Meanwhile, Yuta is getting restless because Gojō is locked in a tough fight, and he wants to jump in. He says that if Gojō is in a sticky situation, he’ll step in. Hakari points out that Gojō told them to intervene only if he appears weak, and right now, Gojō doesn’t look weak from any angle. Maki also interrupts, reminding Yuta that he’s their insurance. If Gojō loses, Yuta and Kashimo will have to lead the fight. She advises him not to jump in prematurely and get himself killed because Sukuna might have a hidden attack up his sleeve that could take them all out in one shot.
Maki is right, but Itadori’s blood is boiling, and he tells Yuta that if he feels the urge to jump into the fight, he should go ahead and do it. Higuruma, however, explains that on Sukuna’s side, there’s also Uraume and Kenjaku, and their job is to fight Uraume and Kenjaku, not Sukuna. So, they shouldn’t interfere in this epic battle—let Gojō and Sukuna settle it.
Back in the fight, the three-on-one situation is taking its toll on Gojō. He realizes that Agito likely has the properties of Great Serpent, Tiger, and even Round Deer because it’s regenerating, just like Round Deer. This means Agito needs to be taken out in one shot; otherwise, it will keep regenerating. Meanwhile, Sukuna is also getting the chance to heal, making it clear that the longer this fight drags on, the more it benefits him.
Sukuna is also aware that he needs to end this fight quickly because if Gojō uses Hollow Purple, they’ll all be in serious trouble. Purple has a 120% output with the Binding Vow. When Gojō hit Sukuna with Purple from 4 km away at the start of the fight, Sukuna was in bad shape, even though he was fresh at that time. Now, with Sukuna, Agito, and Mahoraga already worn out, if Purple is unleashed at 100%, they’ll all be taken out in one shot.
Gojo’s Counterattack
Fearing the imminent danger, Sukuna urges Mahoraga to finish the fight quickly. ‘You’re no longer Megumi’s shadow; you’re my shadow now, so end this fight swiftly.’ Mahoraga responds by throwing his Dharma Wheel, which directly strikes Gojō’s right hand, severing it. Everyone is shocked because Gojō’s healing has slowed down, and now he has to face three powerful entities with only one hand. Yet, despite this, Gojō still has a smile on his face. He observes that Agito seems to be the weakest of the three, so he says, ‘Agito, take this!’ and unleashes a maximum output Blue with his remaining hand.
This powerful attack from Gojō knocks out Agito—whether Agito is merely knocked out or dead is unclear, but he is left in a state where he’s barely recognizable. With this move, Gojō turns the 3v1 fight into a 2v1 battle. Now, in just 41 seconds, Gojō’s Hollow Purple will be unleashed. Where it once seemed like Gojō was at a disadvantage, he has now shifted the tide in his favor. This is where chapter 234 ends, and we move on to the final chapter, 235.
The Devastation of Hollow Purple
Before moving on to chapter 235, let me make a request: if you’re enjoying the blog, please like it, and follow me on social media. I have to remind you during the blog because otherwise, you might forget. Anyway, moving on to chapter 235.
So far in the fight, Gojō has used Black Flash twice, which has significantly boosted his power. Using Black Flash allows you to enhance your techniques and even heal to some extent, which might explain how Gojō was able to instantly heal his severed hand. For the first time in a thousand years, we see Sukuna looking nervous. Gojō then lands a third Black Flash on Mahoraga and swiftly moves to strike Sukuna, landing a blow that visibly shakes him. Sukuna considers retaliating with a punch, but before he can, Gojō tosses him aside and prepares to deliver a fourth Black Flash.
Had this Black Flash connected, Sukuna would’ve been incapacitated for a long time, but Mahoraga intervenes, taking the Black Flash on himself and saving Sukuna. Gojō then begins chanting to use Reversal Red, and sensing this, Sukuna pushes Mahoraga forward, knowing that Mahoraga is adapting to the attack and would likely withstand it. But in a surprising twist, Gojō releases Reversal Red into the air.
Gojō’s Ultimate Strategy: Hollow Purple Unleashed
We then learn that the Blue attack Gojō used to hit Agito earlier still hasn’t dissipated. This Reversal Red was actually intended to combine with that Blue, and when Blue and Red merge, they form Hollow Purple. Realizing the danger, Sukuna shouts at Mahoraga to destroy Blue quickly, or they’re finished. But before Mahoraga can reach Blue to destroy it, Gojō intercepts and punches him.
Desperate, Sukuna attempts to use Piercing Blood to destroy Blue, but Gojō quickly takes him down as well. Sukuna, confident, says, ‘You’re too late, Gojō; my Piercing Blood attack has already been launched. It will destroy your Blue.’ However, Gojō strengthens his Blue with chanting, rendering Piercing Blood ineffective against it. Then, with a final chant, Gojō merges Blue and Red, creating and releasing Hollow Purple.
And then, boom! Hollow Purple’s blast goes off, causing devastation everywhere. Everything is obliterated, and we’re shown a frame where a part of the city is completely turned to dust. The attack was so powerful that it even affected Gojō himself, and something else happened during this blast—Mahoraga’s wheel shattered. Yes, I’m not joking. With this, Sukuna is completely wrecked; he’s lost an arm, his body is severely injured, and he’s in terrible shape. Sukuna’s Reverse Cursed Technique is also weakened, so he won’t be able to heal quickly.
Sukuna’s Downfall: A Battle Draws to a Close
We then see Gojō healing his burnt face because, naturally, he kind of blasted himself as well. But since it’s his own technique, Hollow Purple didn’t hurt him as much. Gojō’s Reverse Cursed Technique is working well, likely boosted by the four Black Flashes he’s used. The best part about this Hollow Purple is that Mahoraga is nowhere to be seen in the fight anymore. It seems like Mahoraga was one-shotted, but we can’t say for sure. While its wheel is definitely broken, it’s hard to tell if Mahoraga is dead or just knocked out.
Overall, the situation has now become a one-on-one fight—Gojō vs. Sukuna. Gojō is standing strong and healthy, while Sukuna is in shambles. He’s lost an arm, his body isn’t healing properly, and he won’t be able to use Domain Amplification or even open his domain. Sukuna can’t even heal himself properly with Reverse Cursed Technique, so it’s clear where this fight is heading.
“Standing alone for what’s right isn’t weakness; it’s the courage to protect others, even when the world disagrees.”
– Megumi Fushiguro
What’s Next? The Battle Continues
Seeing all this, Yuta says that it’s a good thing he didn’t jump into the fight; otherwise, he would’ve only been a distraction to Gojō. Satoru wouldn’t have been able to unleash such an awesome attack like Hollow Purple. Yuta admits that he would have been taken down in the process. Kusakabe also points out that Sukuna won’t be opening his domain now, nor will he be using Domain Amplification or properly healing with Reverse Cursed Technique. So, we can clearly say that Gojō has won this fight.
So, friends, that’s it for today’s blog. Although Kusakabe says the fight is over, remember that Sukuna isn’t dead yet. He might still have some hidden attacks, like Yorozu’s Gift or his hidden innate technique. We can’t fully predict what will happen next, but it seems like Gojō has won this fight. However, the big twist might still be coming.
Until then, like, share the blog. Sayonara….
