Introduction:
Today’s blog is going to be about Solo Leveling. This blog is not just any random blog about Solo Leveling. Literally, I’m going to explain all of Sung Jin-Woo’s powers, so yes, the blog is quite detailed and has a lot of spoilers, so take that as a warning.
Understanding the System
Before we look at Jin-Woo’s most OP power, we first need to understand his system. I know that by now you, Solo Leveling anime fans, have grasped all the rules of the system, but it’s my job to tell you everything, and I will.Jin-Woo is like a player in that system who keeps leveling up. This system was designed by the Architect, who designed it like a video game. What does it mean? It means that as Jin-Woo fights opponents, his experience points (XP) keep increasing. Eventually, Jin-Woo levels up. Now, when leveling up, all of Jin-Woo’s stats increase by one point. Along with this, Jin-woo gets five more points that he can allocate to any stat as he wishes. Note that, like in a game, if Jin-Woo fights strong opponents, his experience points (XP) increase significantly, meaning he levels up faster, while fighting weaker ones will increase it slowly, taking more time to level up.
Besides this, Jin-Woo also has to complete some daily quests. There are different types of quests, and from all these, he gets some rewards, like sometimes full recovery, which he can choose. He might get a special item, like a gift box as in a game. And yes, if the daily quests are not completed, he gets a penalty where he has to survive from a monster for 4 hour. Now you can ask what these stat points are. It’s simple, like in a game where you have strength, stamina, vitality, etc. Jin-Woo’s stats are represented by numbers, and these five stats are strength, intelligence, agility, endurance, perception, etc. Don’t start asking me what strength means, what perception means, because I expect at least that much intelligence from my audience.
Inventory and Marketplace
Now, if you think that’s all there is to the system, you’re wrong, my friends. Why? Because with the system’s help, Jin-Woo can also kind of save his weapons. Like in a game, literally, he has an unlimited inventory where he can keep weapons and take them out anytime. Additionally, this system has something like a marketplace where Jin-Woo can buy some weapons or combat gear like cover or shield. Not only this, Jin-Woo can also communicate with some high-level mana beings, meaning he can understand monster language. So, you can see that even though the system is limiting, it’s quite a lot in itself.
“Even among the Monarchs, Jin-Woo stands out. His power rivals that of the greatest beings in existence.”
– Antares
Strength and Durability
Let’s move on to the part about Sung Jin-Woo’s powers. As usual, Jin-Woo has immense strength; every superhero has immense strength, but Jin-Woo’s strength is on a different level. Literally, this guy once defeated the strongest hunter, Thomas Andre, with his bare hands and also Jin-Woo finished Rakan in no time. Apart from that, Jin-Woo also has next-level speed and durability.
Speed , Healing and Regeneration
His speed is so fast that he can easily dodge Antares’ attacks, which even some Monarchs would struggle to see. His durability is also next level.Over time, Jin-Woo became so strong that normal hunters or monsters couldn’t harm him. Only Monarchs can manage to scratch him. In fact, neither poison nor alcohol has any effect on Jin-Woo. No toxic substance can affect his system because he can detoxify himself. He can even regenerate his body parts. He can heal very quickly, especially when he is sleeping. Moreover, after taking the full power of the Monarch, Jin-Woo stopped aging. Literally, he has to change his appearance from time to time so that people around him feel like he is also aging. If he can change his appearance. So can we say that Jin-Woo can also change his disguise? Tell me what you think. Can Jin-Woo change his face? Create some theories about this in the comment section.
Intelligence and Strategy
Apart from all this, Jin-Woo is not just a master combatant but also very intelligent. Did you think that intelligence stat is just for show? No, no, he has become very smart. He literally makes excellent tactics before his fights, which is how he defeated Antares .
Stealth and Camouflage
If we talk about some extra powers, Jin-Woo has Stealth, which means he can camouflage himself in the environment and listen to others’ conversations. He literally becomes invisible. This kind of ability is typically associated with assassin-type hunters.
Blood Lust and Intimidation
Then there’s Blood Lust, with which Jin-Woo can magically intimidate his opponents and force them into submission. Quicksilver allows him to increase his speed by 30%. Mutilation allows him to tear apart his opponents with a dagger.
There are many such small abilities; how much can I tell? Everything is like an ability that makes him faster, stronger, and able to fight.
Ruler’s Authority and Telekinesis
But the best skill I think is the Ruler’s Authority. Basically, Jin-Woo can use telekinesis with this to move objects, not just small objects, but large objects. In fact, Jin-Woo has practiced Ruler’s Authority so much that he can kind of move himself in the air.
Especially if an attack comes at him, he can dodge it with that.
Dragon’s Fear and Intimidation
Now, there’s another skill Jin-Woo has which I consider even more OP, and that is Dragon’s Fear. Basically, when Jin-Woo lets out a scream, it reverberates with such intensity that anyone who hears it will tremble with fear and go into a panic state, literally unable to move. He can then easily defeat them. But there’s a small catch. This ability only works on those who are generally weaker than Jin-Woo. Strong opponents won’t be affected by this scream at all.
Shadow Extraction and Army
Finally, I will tell you about Jin-Woo’s power for which you have stayed in the blog from the beginning to the end. And this power is called Shadow Extraction. With Shadow Extraction, Jin-Woo can revive any dead opponent by saying “Arise,” extracting their shadow. Not only will this shadow become Jin-Woo’s loyal follower, but also a part of his shadow army. However, Shadow Extraction doesn’t work on Monarchs or Absolute Beings because their bodies are not like mortal bodies. When Jin-Woo hadn’t fully acquired the Monarch’s power, there were some limits to Shadow Extraction, like he could only attempt it three times. If he failed to extract the shadow in three attempts, the shadow would disappear forever. Additionally, if someone had been dead for a long time, their shadow couldn’t be extracted either. Generally, Jin-Woo can’t extract the shadow of someone much stronger than himself. This rule is true even later, but it doesn’t make sense because when Jin-Woo has full power, who can be stronger than him? If someone is, it’s probably a Monarch or Ruler, whose shadow can’t be extracted anyway.
Shadow Exchange and Spying
With the help of shadows, Jin-Woo can switch places with them from any distance, which we call Shadow Exchange. This means he can leave a shadow in Tokyo while he stays in America, and if needed, he can exchange with the shadow and reach Tokyo. There used to be a cooldown period for this. Those who have read the manhwa will know this, but as Jin-Woo got stronger, the cooldown period decreased, and when Jin-Woo fully became the Shadow Monarch, maybe there was no cooldown. Do let me know in the comments.
Besides, Jin-Woo can embed his shadow in others’ shadows to spy on them. In fact, Jin-Woo can even feel the senses of his shadows, understanding what’s happening around them, and literally using his shadows as CCTV cameras. Not exactly, but you get the point.
“Jin-Woo’s strength is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s as if he was born to conquer every challenge thrown his way.”
– Thomas Andre
Monarch’s Domain and Boosts
In this regard, Jin-Woo can use Monarch’s Domain to increase the strength of all his shadows by 50%. And when I say Domain, don’t confuse it with Domain Expansion from JJK; Those who have read the manhwa will know that when Jin-Woo finally became the Shadow Monarch, all his shadows automatically upgraded to the next level. I won’t discuss shadows level here because I have already made a dedicated blog on shadows. Go read that blog. Overall, these are Jin-Woo’s main powers that he uses throughout the manhwa and will continue to use on anime.
Conclusion and Final Thoughts
I’m not focusing on some powers like Dagger Rush, Strong Will, Hypnosis, Blessing, etc. These fancy-named powers are subsets of the main powers I mentioned and these powers aren’t that important, just small things here and there.
